Hamlet is a body without organs. A privileged ingrate, a hopeless cynic, a serial procrastinator, a political deviant, and above all things: a desiring machine.
His dad’s dead, his mother wants a grandchild and his therapist is the father of psychoanalysis. And as the monarchy teeters on the edge of destruction, a new leader has taken the stage with visions of a prosperous Denmark committed to freedom, the individual and the market.
There’s never been a better time to be a Dane.
ANTI-HAMLET is the culmination of Mark Wilson’s trilogy of radical excavations of Shakespeare’s iconic plays. Following critically acclaimed national tours of Richard II and Unsex Me, this epic production brings together an extraordinary cast to take on Freud, Turnbull, Public Relations and Colonialism via Deleuze and Guattari.
“What can I give you in exchange for this ecstasy? Nothing, nothing: except my life, except my life, except my life.”

REVIEWS
“Anti-Hamlet is a triumph nevertheless and so worth seeing”
-ArtsHub
“Romanie Harper’s set design effortlessly underscores the notion of Hamlet as play maker – the raised platform enclosed in red curtain functions as his personal theatrette – and her costumes are witty signifiers of character and motive. Amelia Lever-Davidson’s often dynamic lighting design helps augment the simplicity of the staging”
